It's not really a backwards compatibility issue but something we see a lot is puppets trying to put their feet up on ledges that should be too high. Fixing this is difficult because puppets can be such radically different sizes.
Generally, the way to fix this is to make sure the capsule is wide enough to capture the max stride length. In some cases, making the capsule much wider or bigger may not be desirable, in which case, try bringing down the max stride length.
In this example I use a combination of reducing stride length and increasing capsule width.
Capsule width can effect puppet handling so if you make changes be sure to test your creation post-changes!
