Hints and Secrets
Art’s Dream switches between locations, characters, and gameplay styles pretty regularly, so we’ve put together a handy guide including some tips and tricks to get Art’s musical odyssey off to a flying start!
Collect Everything#
See those floating blue orbs in the game? Yeah, those ones. They’re called prize bubbles, and they've got oodles and oodles of yummy XP inside, so it's probably for the best if you just go ahead and grab them all!
Poke Stuff#
The main portion of gameplay in Art’s Dream focuses on Art exploring a variety of locations through his memories. You never know what secrets you might stumble upon, so it’s best to play it safe and interact with everything you can.
Experiment with Attitude#
On top of all the other great stuff that Art’s Dream offers, you also get the opportunity to make Art your own, with dialogue options available during cutscenes. You’ll typically have three choices: a straightforward response, an angry response, or a sarcastic response. Personally, we’ll go with sassy Art every time.
Embrace the Imp#
Throughout Art’s Dream, Art is flanked by a friendly imp. Not only is the wee blob absolutely adorable, it can also help you engage with - and find hidden secrets in - the environment. Get used to moving it around as soon as possible - it'll come in handy throughout your adventure.
Keep it Moving#
In the sections where you play as Frances and Foxy, it’s easy to get swarmed by the myriad of enemies on screen. So make sure you keep yourself moving as you fight back against the tide of... (checks notes)... Hector heads? What did we put in this game?!
Time Your Jumps#
D-BUG and ELE-D’s section is a platforming adventure. If you’re having difficulties, try slowing yourself down, and timing your jumps more carefully.
Don’t Sweat It#
But don't worry if you’re struggling, as the game has heaps of checkpoints. You won’t lose lives or have to start the whole thing again if you get beaten by the Thornbeak. You can just keep on jamming away!
Check out the Musicians Who Brought Art and Laila to Life!#
Both Art and Laila were inspired by real world musicians like Ray Brown, Charlie Mingus, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone. But on top of that, some of the music was performed by musicians Daniel Casimir(opens in new tab) (bass player), and Rachel John(opens in new tab) (Laila's singing voice). Check them out if you’re in the mood for more jazzy tunes!
