Template Guides Setup

Template scenes and elements have Guides and Auto Guides set up to make creation easier.

Auto Guides#

All the elements in the kit have auto guides. Some control scale (especially for gameplay elements, which can get broken if you change their size), some for surface snap (items which need to sit nicely on the surface of the trench), and some for grid snap to reduce rotation. It’s highly advisable to keep obey auto guides on when stamping. You may want to turn it off once you’ve stamped something so you can have more control over moving it around.

Grid Snap#

As this template has so many auto guides you shouldn't really need grid snap. You’ll certainly want to use it if you decide to create your own trench pieces so that you can make sure they snap nicely together.

Precise Move#

Once elements are snapped to the trench surface, precise move becomes the best guide for assembly, as it allows you to move elements in X/Y while keeping them locked on the surface in Z. It's worth noting that precise move, unlike other guides, has no effect when stamping from the Dreamiverse. It only has an effect when editing the position of something that is already stamped in the scene.

The Dreams User Guide is a work-in-progress. Keep an eye out for updates as we add more learning resources and articles over time.
