FAQs

What can I make for this year’s event?

You can create a patch of the Forest of Gloom, or design your very own Cursed Trinket.

How do I submit a creation for inclusion in the event?

This year, we’re using this Google Form(opens in new tab) to collect all of your submissions. There’s lots more info in there, but basically, we’ll need your creation’s indreams.me URL, and it will have to be both public and remixable for us to be able to include it in the event. You should also double-check our official content guidelines for All Hallows’: The Land of Lost Dreams before you submit your creation. Make sure to send it to us by the given deadline!

Can I submit multiple creations?

You can submit both a Forest of Gloom and a Cursed Trinket, if you like - but we’ll be accepting only one Forest of Gloom and one Cursed Trinket per person. You can be a collaborator on multiple submissions, though - we recommend teaming up with your friends if you really want to submit more than one trinket or forest glade.

Do I have to make a Forest of Gloom AND a Cursed Trinket?

Not if you don’t want to! Feel free to just pick one. Beginner creators will probably find making a trinket easier, while advanced creators will find there’s more scope for complicated stuff like gameplay with the open-ended Forest of Gloom templates. Then again the challenge of getting a lot of detail under the thermo limit of a trinket might be appealing too! It’s entirely up to you!

What sort of gameplay am I allowed to include in my Forest of Gloom? What kind of effects am I allowed to use on my Cursed Trinket?

For our full, detailed list of guidelines and recommendations for creators, head to our All Hallows’: The Land of Lost Dreams hub. We’ve got all the highly-specific answers to all of your highly-specific questions, split by template type for your convenience!

It’s Halloween, so I can go wild with the blood and guts and stuff, right?

Well. About that. It may be Halloween, but Dreams is still rated PEGI 12 - you can read more about what that means here(opens in new tab) - so if you’d like your creation to be included in our event, you’ll want to avoid getting too realistic with the violence and gore. The Land of Lost Dreams is a pretty surreal setting, anyway, so we’d recommend you enjoy fun using your imagination to come up with freaky, weird, fantastical scares, rather than getting all slasher flick about it.

We’ve set out some useful guidelines, and you should read these carefully before you start creating. Submissions will be checked to ensure they aren’t violating any of the guidelines, and those that are found to be doing so may be moderated.

Your creation should also adhere to our CoMmunity Guidelines.

Why was my creation not included?

Either you went a bit too wild with the blood and guts and stuff (see above), you submitted way past the given deadline, or there was another issue that we couldn’t resolve. Often we run into problems including a creation because it’s not been made remixable. We do our best to reach out to creators during the submissions process if we have issues with their content and think we can help fix them - as long as they abide by the stated guidelines!
