Princess Rhythm#

by shadow124900

Estimated playtime: Replayable

What's better than hitting things? Hitting things to the beat! Now you can get your anger out whilst swinging around a hammer the size of your own body. Princess Rhythm is a rhythm game platformer where you collect musical notes, defeat one-eyed enemies, and time your movements to the music in order to get the best score possible. The toe-tappingly catchy soundtrack generates an infectious rhythm that works with your jumps, and swings of your hammer to create an experience as melodic and soothing as listening to your favourite CDs (yes, we know we're old). After a couple of attempts, we ended up with a score of 6,590 overall. Beat that! Actually, please don't, that'll make us look bad.

Pressure - Chapter Two (Thalassophobia)

by greatscott2204

Estimated playtime: 2 hours

No pressure everyone, but Pressure is back. (We're going to ignore the sounds of a thousand groans echoing through the internet, and just carry straight on.) Chapter Two of Pressure continues the terrifying story of the first game, as you continue your journey to escape from a mysterious underwater facility; adding new mechanics, features, and of course, lashings of jump scares. But perhaps the most important new feature is lore collectables. We love lore collectables. It's also arrived at the ideal time, to coincide with the beginning of the most frightening time of year. Almost as if it was planned... Conspiracy theories aside, we'll admit that we had to look up what thalassophobia means. But once we found out, it all made perfect sense: "the persistent and intense fear of deep bodies of water such as the sea, oceans, pools, or lakes". Forget about deep water - this game is so scary it's even managed to make us nervous about puddles.

Gekuwu#

by Pudazuka

Estimated playtime: N/A

We watch a whole lot of anime here at Mm, and one enduring trope that comes up time and time again is the power of friendship - the idea that the bond you feel with your mates can change lives, topple dictators, and defeat unstoppable monsters. Whilst there are no threats in the soothing artwork of Gekuwu (unless you're scared of cows), the scene does stand as a testament to the power of friendship, as this piece was created to celebrate creator Pudazuka's friend Gek's birthday. We're assuming that Gek enjoys watching cows with binoculars in a field whilst wearing a rainbow cape, but whatever the reason for this delightful scene, this creation highlights the bond between friends in a simple yet beautiful image.

Isle of Eras#

by Grambitious

Estimated playtime: 3+ hours

Imagine your brother goes missing. You travel to a mysterious island where he was last seen. And then things start to get... funky. When you arrive, the island appears to be deserted, natural disasters start happening and as you explore, time travel shenanigans begin to occur. To say any more would spoil what is an unexpected and inventive Dreams experience, but we can say that this is an incredibly polished and visually arresting creation by Grambitious. The island feels real, with clear points of interest, and there's plenty to explore and interact with. Best of all, it does the classic videogame thing of there always being a collectable you want to grab to or a puzzle to solve. There's also an incredible amount of content, including a Prelude demo, and a variety of cut content thrown in as a bonus. This comes with a hearty recommendation from us, then. Just don't step on any butterflies and wreck the timeline, will ya? We'd appreciate that.

Raindrop Kingdom#

by Megla-John

Estimated Playtime: 30 minutes

It's time for something a little bit more wholesome again, so let's check in with an adorable little raindrop, called... Raindrop. Raindrop has somehow managed to get lost, and has ended up in a completely different sky Kingdom. Don't judge, we've all been there. It's your job to help Raindrop get home, by running, jumping, and a whole lot of cloud bouncing. Megla-John has done an excellent job creating realistically fluffy clouds and weather effects, but what might be the most impressive thing is actually the ground textures. The land below the clouds looks so well realised that for once, we'd actually recommend that you DO look down. But don't fall. We don't endorse that.
