World of Tren

Tren is a game full of surprises, and the world of Tren is no different. Tren is a game all about family, nostalgia, and connecting with your inner child. Oh, and the slightly sinister BeechCorp. But more on that later.

Just like that toy train set you might have had when you were younger, Tren is set in a house. Specifically, the story starts off in a dusty attic setting, where an old Tren set is uncovered...

Like all the best things in life, your Tren set is uncovered in a dusty old attic. It's amazing what you can find in an attic: old clothes, items from the Dark Ages, false teeth. What a treasure trove of goodies.

After a while, your house needs a little bit of TLC, right? Or DIY? Whichever acronym you decide to go with, taking some time to spruce up your home is always a good idea. Unless you're rubbish at building, in which case maybe you should hire a professional. And don't blame us for any structural damage...

Well this is a happy surprise now, isn't it? Turns out all that renovation was to create a safe and supportive family room! Not too shabby, and maybe the DIY skills of this family were better than we thought. We take it all back, mystery family, we take it all back.

Of course, behind every heart-warming celebration of family and the positivity of the human spirit, lies a shadowy corporation only partially hell-bent on world domination. In this case, it's the morally grey BeechCorp, a company originally founded as a train station building firm that quickly branched out into toys and entertainment through the development of the Tren Modular Play System.

With the success of their newly developed entertainment branch, BeechCorp quickly became a household name, and is now the creator of such additional properties as Toxic Gunge Paint, Skeletren Island, and the charitable arm of the company, GreenBeech.

And of course, the fact that the Creative Director of Media Molecule and creator of Tren shares the same name as this company is 100% a coincidence. Probably. You can find out more about BeechCorp, including the full history of the company, in our accompanying Tren user manual.
