Settings

Some optional settings you can use during performance.

Legato

With legato, if you hold a note and press a new note, the pitch slides from the first note to the second rather than simply playing a new note.

Adjust the length of the slide using glide on the pitch page of the tweak menu.

Music Snap

A bit like grid snap for music. Makes your notes snap to the beat when recording a performance, making it more precise. Audio folks call this quantization.

Of course, much of the expressiveness of a performance comes from little timing imperfections, so use it judiciously. Use the buttons to the right to adjust the snap.

-Music Snap > Finer

The finer the music snap, the more divisions of the bar there are for your notes to snap to. In other words, your notes will snap closer to your actual performance.

+Music Snap > Coarser

The coarser the music snap, the fewer divisions of the bar there are for your notes to snap to. In other words, your notes will snap closer to the metronome beats.

Touch Pad Mode Wireless Controller Only

Touch Pad Mode > Bends Wireless Controller Only

Lock to bends while performing. Swipe while playing to bend a note, i.e. to vary its pitch. Takes a bit of practice to master, but perfect for a jazzy or bluesy sound.

Touch Pad Mode > Semitones Wireless Controller Only

Lock to semitones while performing. Press upper to shift up a semitone and lower to shift down. With practice you can reach notes outside the current scale.

Grid Snap

Want everything arranged in nice precise lines? Then grid snap is for you. You'll get a visual representation of the grid, following you around as you grab and move things.

When you move something, it'll snap to the grid, and you'll get a plumb line showing you how you've moved it. All this makes it easy to lay everything out neatly.

By default the origin of the grid is dead center of the scene, but you can change it to center on a specific object by pressing + over the object.

If you've set it to an object, you can use reset grid on the context menu to reset it to the origin of the scene.

If you grab something which is not aligned to the grid, the visual will turn orange. Press and the object will align to the grid.

Is the grid too precise? Not precise enough? Make it coarser or finer using the buttons on the right.

Try using floor with the grid, as it'll remind you where the scene origin is at all times. Note that precise move is disabled while using grid snap.
