Deleting an Online Version
If you’re hitting the online versions limit you may wish to delete some versions. Or perhaps you just want to get rid of versions you don’t need anymore, to tidy up and make things easier to manage.
This page will cover:
- Deleting an online version
- Why some online versions can’t be deleted
If you need more general information about deletion, please refer to the main deletion page.
REMEMBER!
You won’t get much storage space back by deleting versions. If you’re hitting a storage limit, consider deleting photos or deleting whole creations instead.
BEST PRACTICE!
Adding version notes when you save a new version will really help you differentiate your versions and find the exact one you need.
WARNING! Deleting a version won’t always prevent people from using it. See consequences of deletion or the permissions page for more info.
The process for deleting an online version is the same, regardless of the creation type (Element, Scene, Dream, Collection).
The consequences of deletion vary according to who owns the creation and what type of creation it is. Read more about the consequences of deletion here.
Only the owner of a creation can delete online versions.

1 - Go to your creation’s cover page (accessible via DreamShaping/My Creations).
2 - On the cover page, hit the Versions button.
3 - On the Versions & Release page, select the ONLINE tab.

WARNING!
Lead and latest online versions can’t be deleted!
- Lead Version: This is the most recently-released PUBLIC or PLAYABLE version. If you want to delete this version you’ll need to replace it with a different version.
- Latest Online Version: This is the latest version saved online, whether PRIVATE, PLAYABLE or PUBLIC. If you want to delete this version you’ll need to replace it with a different version.
Note that should you release a PRIVATE version, then even if that’s newer than a PUBLIC version, the PUBLIC version will still be the Lead Version, while the PRIVATE version is the Latest Online Version.
