Template scenes and elements have Guides and Auto Guides set up to make creation easier.

Auto guides#

By default the Dungeon Crawler template has obey auto guides switched on. Just about everything has its own auto guide. For example all of the puzzle elements have grid snap set to 4 to help with placement and alignment. The rooms and room-construction pieces also have grid snap to help them sit properly. Just about everything has surface snap on, so you can place things quickly and easily. We highly recommend creating your own levels with obey auto guides on.

Grid Snap#

If you really don’t want to use obey auto guides, at least use grid snap. It really helps with Dungeon Crawler creation, giving you precise placement when creating your own rooms. For puzzles and snapping rooms together, a grid snap of 4 is perfect. Without grid snap or obey auto guides you'll get into bother quite easily.

Having said that... we do recommend turning off grid snap when connecting wires as it can make it rather fiddly. This is why our best recommendation is to use obey auto guides.

Precise Move#

If you really don’t like using grid snap you can use precise move instead, but it can be easy to move an element in an axis you didn't intend, so watch out for that. You also can’t guarantee that all elements will snap together, as precise move allows you to move freely along an axis. We’d recommend it more for decorating a scene than putting together the foundations.

X-Ray#

There are a lot a lot of elements that contain logic in the Dungeon Crawler template, so it's handy to be able to see switches and microchips. If you’re trying to hunt down a piece of logic we recommend turning on x-ray in the show/hide menu.
