Get involved in All Hallows': The Land of Lost Dreams!

Somewhere between the Dreamiverse and development hell lies The Land of Lost Dreams. Surrounded by the cosmic void, this creepy purgatory dimension is home to hordes of unfinished and discarded creations that never saw the light of day…

A great place to visit, you might think. And you’d be correct! For Halloween, All Hallows': The Land of Lost Dreams will be live in Dreams and open to tourists. If you’re very lucky (or unlucky?), you might just catch a glimpse of some of the ill-fated creations and creatures made by Media Molecule and the Dreams coMmunity.

Yes - once again, we’d like to include your very own creepy creations in our Halloween extravaganza. Would-be collaborators, read on!

Getting involved!#

The Forest of Gloom#

First up, we’re inviting you to help us build The Land of Lost Dreams by creating your own patch of The Forest of Gloom. (If you attended DreamsCom ‘22, you may have experienced a premonition of this bizarre place, home to some truly unsettling creations.)

You’ll find three Forest of Gloom Templates here. These starting scenes are fully art-passed (read: we already did some nice painting and lighting for you) backdrops, allowing you to focus on the good stuff - what lies within your forest.

This is an open-ended creation challenge. You can create whatever you like - as long as it adheres to our official guidelines, natch - inside your piece of the forest. Beginners should find the smaller patch a bit easier to start with, but if you’re an experienced dreamer, you might want to try creating something in one of the larger scenes. So much room for (paranormal) activity!

Please go here for full guidelines for The Forest of Gloom.

Cursed Trinkets#

Secondly, in keeping with All Hallows' traditions, we’re also offering a casual design challenge. This year, we’re asking you to send us a Cursed Trinket! You can find the Cursed Trinket Templates here.

Cursed Trinket templates - padlock, vial, scroll, mug, pumpkin, tablet and... a mushroom in a jar. Okay.

Cursed Trinkets are unassuming knick-knacks or ornaments that contain a piece of your creative essence. What item could be used to summon you to The Land of Lost Dreams? This is another great starting point for newer Dreams creators, but we’re sure we’ll see seasoned coMmunity members inventing some impossible stuff. Like a bauble that sucks out your soul through your nostrils. Or something.

This is a low-thermo object creation challenge. You can start by modifying one of our example objects, or sculpt your own trinket in the blank template provided.

Please go here for full guidelines for the Cursed Trinket.

Submit your stuff!#

Before you get started though, make sure to read through the All Hallows': The Land of Lost Dreams guidelines so you can be confident that whatever you’re creating meets the requirements to be included in our event.

Once your macabre masterpiece is complete, all that’s left is to SUBMIT TO US... er... we mean, submit it to us. Sorry, the Halloween spirit took over. Please send us the indreams.me links to your creations via this Google Form(opens in new tab) (English only). You have until 9AM BST on Monday 12th September to do so.

Off you go, then. In the meantime, we’ll just be over here, quietly working away at some of the most bizarre stuff we’ve ever put into the Dreamiverse. Don’t worry about it. Keep an eye on the blog and our social media channels as Halloween approaches; we’ll return with more details soon.

The Dreams User Guide is a work-in-progress. Keep an eye out for updates as we add more learning resources and articles over time.
